Meet the Maker

Well hey there, cool cats and crafty kittens! I’m Dawn Hanley, the brains (and glue-covered hands) behind Crazy Cat Lady Crafts! I started making jewelry about five years ago—mostly because I wanted to be shiny and stabby at the same time. And let me tell you, nothing says “fun” like chasing runaway beads across the floor while your cat tries to eat them.

About a year ago, I expanded into all the crafts. Paper, fabric, resin, paint—if it exists, I’ve probably glued glitter to it. My website is basically a crafty jungle—each click is a wild adventure, and possibly a glitter explosion. You never know what you'll find next—heck, I don't even know what I’ll make next.

Now don’t worry—I’m not throwing hot glue spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks (okay maybe sometimes). I perfect each piece like a cat perfecting its nap spot: over and over until it’s just right. If I wouldn’t buy it myself, it doesn’t make it out of the litter box—I mean, workshop.

So how did Crazy Cat Lady Crafts get its name? A very special someone once called me the “Crazy Old Cat Lady.” I dropped the “old,” spiked the hair (because fabulous), and added “crafts”—and bam! a purr-fect business was born.

So paws what you’re doing, grab your favorite cozy blanket, and check out my site. You might find your next obsession—or at least something your cat will try to knock off a shelf.

Take care, stay pawsitive, and remember: safety scissors are your friends.

How it’s Made

The wooden coasters are first stained with a stain of choice usually brown then when dry flipp over and stain second side then polyethylene the side that will be the side down then paint either in one color or multiple colors pending what the customer wants then that side gets polyethylene each step and side have to dry anywhere between 6hr and 24hrs when both sides done then on the backside attach the felt feet. Since the process is long I do multiple coasters per step to make sure done right and uniformly and save time
